Why Lady Gaga’s Friends Reportedly Miss Her Relationship With Chicago Fire Star Taylor Kinney

One of Lady Gaga‘s most significant relationships was with Chicago Fire star Taylor Kinney. The duo started dating in 2011 and got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2015, but their split came amid the filming of A Star Is Born when there were unverified rumors about her fling with co-star and director Bradley Cooper.

Gaga has gone on to have relationships with talent agent Christina Carino as well as her current beau, tech-industry businessman Michael Polansky — whom she might be engaged to after being spotted with a major sparkling ring on that finger. Polansky reportedly isn’t a favored boyfriend in the “Bad Romance” singer’s inner circle, though. An In Touch insider described him as “a total control freak” who has affected “her emotional well-being.” The source pointed out, “He’s not good for her.” That’s why her pals are sharing how much they miss Kinney and the happiness he brought to Gaga’s life.

“He was a much bigger softie, and he certainly didn’t insert himself into matters involving her career,” the insider noted of Polansky’s tendency “to accompany her everywhere she goes” for work. They swear that Lady Gaga admitted that she “still loved” the 42-year-old actor during her early dating days with Polansky in 2020. “She honestly still seems hung up on Taylor — he had a Prince Charming vibe,” they continued. “She hasn’t been the same since, and I’ve never known her to be as fragile as she is with Michael.”

What Lady Gaga And Taylor Kinney's Relationship Is Like TodayThe timing of this news isn’t great, though. Kinney is happily married to model Ashley Cruger. They are newlyweds, who just walked down the aisle “in a small, private ceremony in Chicago” in May after two years of dating, per People. Kinney and Cruger prefer to keep their relationship under the radar, but he does occasionally share snapshots of his wife on his Instagram page (her account is private).

Lady Gaga and Kinney have moved on to other relationships, and her friends are going to have to accept that fact. While they hope she “comes to her senses soon” about Polansky, there will be no romantic reunion with Kinney.
