‘Chicago Fire’ Introduces New Paramedic to Replace Brett – But Will He Stay?
It’s hard to imagine Ambulance 61 without Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) after she’s played a key role there since Season 3. But now, Chicago Fire, in its 12th season, is moving forward. before without her—in Killmer’s final episode, Brett married Casey (Jesse Spencer) and moved to Portland with him—and that means someone has to join Violet (Hanako Greensmith).
A photo for the March 27 episode, “All the Dark,” shows Wesam Keesh as Lennox, working alongside Violet (see above), and Dick Wolf fans will recognize him: He plays as hacker Malachi in Law & Order: Crime Syndicate! Through SVU’s crossover with One Chicago, Fire and Organized Crime are technically in the same universe, but he wouldn’t be the first to play multiple characters on Dick’s shows Wolf (or on the same show!). But will Lennox still stay?
As executive producer Andrea Newman told TV Insider before the Season 12 premiere, “there will be some turnover” on Ambulance 61 after Brett leaves. As we saw on screen, Violet will become the new Medical Officer in Charge (PIC), “so she will become the boss and she will have to choose the next person to come in. It will be a journey of finding that person. It is not easy to replace Sylvie Brett,” the EP added.
However, when Medical Director Robinson stopped by Firehouse 51 to talk about who would accompany Violet, she revealed that she did not want medical staff involved. She is also planning to be more involved than her predecessors. We’ll have to wait and see what that means for Violet going forward, Lennox and anyone else riding the 61.
