It’s been years since superstar Lady Gaga and Chicago Fire’s Taylor Kinney called it quits. They’ve both moved on to other relationships. But now, with Kinney having recently married model girlfriend Ashley Cruger this past May, Lady Gaga’s friends are admitting they miss Taylor Kinney amid the singer’s Michael Polansky relationship.

“When Gaga is in love, her whole life revolves around her guy,” said a source close to the singer, who added that Polansky, 46, “has charmed her management team and seems to like being in control of her life and career. She doesn’t make a business move without consulting him. He wants to accompany her everywhere she goes. She’s at the point where she doesn’t want to do anything unless he’s there to hold her hand.”

In 2014, when she was in a relationship with Kinney, Gaga had said of their relationship. “He’s totally in charge,” adding that “it’s not good for relationships to tell men what to do.”

The same source, however, insists Kinney was special. “He was a much bigger softie, and he certainly didn’t insert himself into matters involving her career,” something that, considering Gaga’s struggles with mental health, seems really important. “Michael’s hovering doesn’t help. She rarely has a moment alone,” the source added. “Her friends hope she comes to her senses soon. No one thinks she’s going to spend the rest of her life with this guy.”
