‘Chicago Fire’ says goodbye to another fan favorite

What’s going on at Firehouse 51? Deadline revealed that Eamonn Walker will leave at the end of the current Chicago Fire season. This news comes after the latest episode, which saw Chief Boden outside the fire station, raising concerns about what’s going on in his life. The character will not be killed off, so Walker will be able to return to the show in a recurring capacity in the future. Details about the reasons for this decision will be revealed in the season finale airing on May 22.

Chief Boden is one of Chicago Fire’s most beloved characters. He is a tough man, a quality he uses to protect his people and the fire station. Boden has climbed the leadership ranks starting as Battalion Chief of Battalion 25. He was recently promoted to Deputy District Chief and is currently being promoted to Deputy Chief of Police. The promotion hasn’t been without its problems, and his most recent one has put him at odds with Medical Director Robinson (Laura Allen). The latest episode sees Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) take on the responsibility in Boden’s absence, and if Boden makes it to the Fire Brass top, it will mean less time spent at the fire station. He has previously solved this problem by moving his office to the fire station but this time this may not solve the problem.
